Jammu, February 11 (KNO): State Secretary CPI (M), G N Malik on Monday expressed anguish over the non-seriousness of the governor administration in initiating dialogue with the NHM employees in resolving the genuine demand for their regularisation. Till this genuine demand is addressed, these employees should be paid the salaries on the pattern of Haryana and Dehli governments, Malik said in a statement isused to KNO. “It is a matter of concern for all that despite being on strike for at least a month now, the administration seems to be in deep slumber in tackling the serious issue. The health care system has come to a grinding halt, especially in the far flung areas of the state due to the strike putting the patients into untold sufferings but, unfortunately, the government seems to be reluctant to start talks with the striking employees to sort out the issues amicably,” he said. He added due to the stubborn attitude of the government in not holding talks, the doctors have resorted to 'fast unto death' till their genuine demands especially regularisation are not addressed within a stipulated period of time. Malik urged upon the government to start dialogue with the striking employees to resolve their genuine and long pending demands without any further delay and ensure that they resume the duties so that patient care is provided during the harsh winters, particularly in far flung area.(KNO)
